My Boys.....

 Over at
Let's get Shabby
for Challenge #48
Its all about foliage greenery …. leaves and plant-form…. So long as its green!
Of course you can add anything else in any type of project you like(as long as its got paper/scrapbooking of sorts in it!)
It’s not about using the colour green without foliage.
So here is my DT piece for this challenge....

I've scrapped a pic of my boys and I taken at my cousin's wedding a few years ago!
I've shabbied up my LO with ink sprays, ink pads, stamping, assorted leaves, tag, papers, flowers, tags lace and buttons.

 -oOo-
Now hop over to
Let's Get Shabby

..for the full deets

There is a fabby shabby prize up for grabs this month
...and see what other fabulous inspiration the talented shabby girls have created for this challenge...

Summer of Colour 2013 and some Generous Gifts....

...and what a lovely Summer of colour it has been!
Inspired once again by the lovely
successful and popular
I've had so much fun teaching myself to embroider each week
using the unusual (and out of my comfort zone) colour prompts.
and using this fab book...
Here is a round up of my stitchery efforts...

and I decided to turn them all into a
Summer Of Colour 2013
Stitchery sampler
...So I altered one of my vintage babies petticoats with all my weeks embroidery pieces
then added some more doilies, buttons lace etc....
and voila....
and not only was it an amazing challenge
but the icing on the cake was  I won one of Kristin's
Generous and Wonderful weekly prizes!
....of all these lovelies!!
Thank you for your time and generosity Kristin
(and for your good taste in arty supplies!!)
Can't wait to have a play with some of these goodies

I've really enjoyed this weekly challenge.
it's been great fun blog hopping...peeking at so much varied art and lovely talent out there around the globe in blogland and on FB!!
....So Thank you again Kristin and to all the lovely people visiting me and for your wonderful inspiration and lovely encouraging comments!

but like all good things, they have to come to an end...
So sad...
But the Great news is, Kristin is already got plans for next year..
Wahooo!

Will look forward to it!!
-oOo-
I also found Monique's lovely arty Blog through this fab challenge, and became a follower, little did I know I became her 100th stalker!!
So she asked if she could send me something for being her 100th follower ...
(So much kindness and generosity in Blogland!)
and look at this lush package I have just received from
The Netherlands...
and this is what it contained .....
a gorgeous altered notebook
with beautiful Paris themed charms
...inked and stamped
...and filled with wonderful altered pages
already to be filled with notes and ideas
which I'm going to make good  use on my French trip in September
 Thank you again Monique!
I Love it!!

 Thanks for Peeking!

Summer of Colour 3 - Week 5 - Sepia Squirrel

It's been another scorcher of a day here!!
So what better to do, than sit in front of the fan an do a bit of stitching!
OMG, we are on week 6 already!
I'm so sad to see this colour challenge come to an end
This has been such a fun challenge to be part off.
-oOo-
Sage & Sepia
are this weeks colours!
Now I love this colour combo usually...just my type of vintage colouring!
But.... I was not quite sure about this combination for my stitching.
I contemplated what to do for this one.  Sorting through my cottons.....to find something I would associate with sepia ...and in the end I'm still not sure I got it right.  But I made another addition to my embroidery attempts.
(If you've not seen my last five SOC posts...
I'm using this fab colour challenge
to teach myself to embroider...)

...using the 'Little Stitches ' book by Aneela Hoey

...I've had so much fun learning to stitch with Kristin's colour prompts.
Anyway this is my contribution  for
Sage and Sepia

I've embroidered Sammy the squirrel
onto some vintage linen
using sage and sepia coloured cottons.....
in a variety of stitches (couching stitch, back stitch, French knots and straight stitch)
-oOo-
...then I added an assortment of sepia  and sage (although my button looks rather blue in this pic!) buttons.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has done with these fab colours and next week when everyone show of the SOC works.

Another fab family challenge....

Do you remember last month when I sent my cousin and Auntie some scrapbook  papers and we had a little challenge with three of the papers.....and the same photo ?  (HERE)

Well..... this month we decided to use the other three double sided papers and the same photo, this time the photo was of all the family and friends who attended my Auntie and Uncles 50th Wedding Anniversary party.
Here are the double sided papers we all had to use
these papers are way out of my comfort zone,
That's why I just LOVE doing these family challenges!

...and here are all three of our layouts.

First of all my Auntie Joans fabulous layout...
Love how she has layered the papers
especially the scalloped strip detail
Oh and the addition of the lovely red buttons!

...and next is my cousin Kerry's lovely page

she has used the pretty doily paper has her background
then added real doilies ...very clever!
Love how Kerry has cut out the tickets
oh and more lovely buttons!!

You can see more of Kerry's
Gorgeous scrapbook Layouts on her blog!!

and lastly...my page

I've used the stripy paper for my background
spritz with inks
I've also cut out my tickets and made a little banner with them.
some doodling
dymo strips added to a tag
then added some buttons and prima flowers

Another fun challenge completed
...can't wait 'til the next one now!!
